Architecture: Beautifully Creepy

This beautiful home listing came to me by way of RV in Montreal...
I was stunned by its haunting beauty...

From the outside, it is pretty unassuming.
There is certainly some age there, as many Montreal homes have.
This one dates to 1920.

Easy Artwork: Doing Things Backwards

If you are in a regular visitor to my blog, you will have noticed that I bought my very own mat cutter.
Reference this against all of the framing I have been doing herehere and here.

Since I am in a framing mood, I have been pulling out all sorts of our artwork that has been rolled up in storage mode.

We have all sorts, such as - autographed posters, paintings from Haiti and Africa, charcoal drawings, and even a generic Ikea print leftover from my husband's ex-girlfriend!

Anyway, I opened up this African piece.
As I unfurled it, I realized that it was not printed on a regular canvas, but rather the canvas from a flour mill in the Congo. Resourceful!

Junking vs. Antiquing

Although I come home with some pretty fantastic finds, getting them isn't always as easy as it seems.
The sometimes treacherous world of junking is not for the faint of heart, or for the impatient for that matter!

Most often, there is a real difference between antiquing and junking.

Displaying The Things We Love: Lest We Forget

My husband was given his Grandfather's service medals in this modest brown paper bubble envelope.
In order to keep them protected, he kept them in it.
Knowing how much those medals meant, I decided find a way to display them.

You Just Died In My Arms Tonight

Rest in Peace.
I will always remember that first day I saw you; You were all perky and cute... quite the flirt.
Of course I had to pick you up... and I am embarrassed to say that I took you home that night.
But then I got you home, and managed to kill you...

Funny Stuff: Thrifting Infographic

Good Morning!
I found this hilarious infographic online today.

I found it at Good. - by Christie Young.
My favorite is #6... because it happens to me every time.

Artwork: Drive a Hard Bargain

Stopped by VV Boutique on a lark.
Hubby saw this photograph and liked it - maybe because the landscape reminds us of home (BC).
